Torahlab connects people in a local Torah-learning community with study partners. This page explains what we collect and what we do with it. It is short because Torahlab does little with your details.
Your name, a username, and — if you choose to give it — a mobile phone number. During signup you may also tell us what you want to learn, when you are free, and which languages you speak, so we can suggest a partner.
A phone number is optional. If you give one, it is used so a study partner or an organiser can reach you, and — only if you ticked the consent box at signup — to text you about your matches and sessions.
We do not sell, rent, or share phone numbers with anyone for marketing. Numbers are passed to our messaging provider, Twilio, solely to deliver the messages you asked for.
We text you only when something happens on your account: someone asks to learn with you, a match is confirmed, or a session you scheduled is coming up. Usually a few messages a month. Message and data rates may apply.
Reply STOP to any message to stop them, or HELP for help. You can also turn them off in your profile. Stopping texts does not close your account — you keep seeing everything inside the app.
Members you are matched with see your first name and what you want to learn. Community organisers who run Torahlab can see member details in order to make and manage matches. Nobody else does.
Your data is stored with Supabase, our database provider, and the site is hosted by Vercel.
Email admin@torahlab.app and ask, and we will delete your account and your phone number.
